Located in the central corridor of the Atlantic rainforest of southern Bahia, CABRUCA is a cooperative represented by 28 farmers engaged with organic and agroforestry production combined with the conservation of the Atlantic Rainforest.
Headquarted in the city of Ilheus, center of the cocoa region of Bahia, the main product of CABRUCA is the certified cocoa grown under the shade of native trees of the Atlantic rainforest in a traditional agroforestry system called "cabruca."
Besides the production of the certificated high quality cocoa, CABRUCA encourages the diversification of agroforestry through palm cultivation as açaí and peach palm; spices like black pepper, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, guarana and vanilla; and fruit such as cupuaçu, soursop, guava, banana, orange, magusteen among others.
All organic and bioynamic producers and products of CABRUCA are certified by IBD - Certifications (www.ibd.com.br) through an annual and regular inspection, following the requirements of Brazilian, European (EU) and North American (NOP ) markets;
